The Next Step to Future-Proof Students for the AI Era

Building on the "CoolThink@JC" and "CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future" programmes, the JC GoAI project is designed to integrate generative AI into Hong Kong's education system, aiming to cultivate students' AI literacy and empower them for the future. Our project operates through a collaborative model, bringing together education experts, frontline teachers, and school leaders to develop practical, safe, and ethically grounded learning and teaching resources. By focusing on teacher agency and school-wide support, we aim to build sustainable capacity within schools to embrace technological changes. Our project also includes teacher professional development and education for parents, ensuring a holistic support system for the next generation of learners.

Co-designing AI Learning and Teaching Resources

Over 40 local teachers are working hand in hand with education experts to co-design AI-integrated learning and teaching resources across multiple subjects. These resources will be shared with our pilot schools as examples to spark creativity and inspire innovative lesson design. Our aim is to empower teachers to develop even more materials infused with generative AI in the future.

Our Multi-cohort Participating Schools

So far, 90 schools have joined our pilot phase which consists of two cohorts. Cohort 1 began in the second term of the 2025–26 school year, and Cohort 2 will implement in 2026–27. Looking ahead, applications will open for more schools to join the at-scale phase starting in September 2027. By the 2028–29 school year, we aim to bring AI education to 200 primary schools and 100 secondary schools, benefiting over 100,000 students.
