AI-Protected Wetlands: Exploring Mai Po
This activity will take students to the Mai Po Wetlands to learn about the ecological value of this precious local wetlands and the application of artificial intelligence and smart technology in environmental monitoring and conservation, deepening their understanding of environmental protection and smart city development. The content includes:

  • understanding the important habitats and local biodiversity of the Mai Po Wetlands

  • learning about the work of the World Wide Fund For Nature Hong Kong (WWF-HK) in wetlands conservation and its integration with technology

  • introducing case studies of the application of artificial intelligence and smart technology in environmental conservation and monitoring (such as smart gate systems and animal identification using AI technology)

  • understanding how to use innovative technologies and AI to participate in environmental conservation, cultivating problem-solving skills and a sense of responsibility through technology
